Here I am, writing from Sendai, Japan! I am here for a period of study / work / research in a robotics laboratory of Tokoku University of Sendai (仙台). It's use that Ph.D candidates go abroad to improve their knowledge and deepen their research, before to work on (or during writing) their doctoral thesis.
In the pages of my website, I use a script for the characteristic of visualizing bigger images clicking on thumbnails. This script, with all its variants, is used in Internet a lot, but actually there exists many variants, that provide for different features for different needs. In this page I report the results of my research on all Lightbox clones and their features.
I wrote a MODx plugin, that is the CMS that I use for this website. It works using a widely known script (Lightbox, or better, a pair of variants), and it shows bigger images when you click on thumbnails.
I just come back from a trip in USA and Canada. I was there to partecipate to the RoboCup in Atlanta, then I went through America (New York, Niagara Falls and Montreal). The RoboCup went pretty well, we got the third place in the RoboCupRescue Virtual Robots league. The rest of the trip lead us to some of the most beautiful in America, IMHO. Niagara Falls are something unique and impossible to describe, though the first time I was there I thought "only this?", it has been sufficient to get nearer to understand that this natural show is worth seeing again and again...
In this week-end, wondering without targets in the Great Net, I hit a small piece of code, really very amusing and also a little bit mesmerizing! You all know what is a fractal, but we usually read something about Mandelbrot and Julia sets, everyone has seen them somewhere. But we don't know exactly how the rest of extremely complex, 3D, colored, weird fractals are built. Navigating in the deviantART website, I saw a lot of them and also some tutorial, that whets my appetite about creating these colorful, somehow hypnotizing stuff.
Mindreamz is back again. I hope to find the time to keep this site up to date, or at least to have it not empty ;-). This will be an eclectic website, like its webmaster ;-).
